Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains how Conivo ("we", "us", "the app") collects, uses, and protects your information when you use the app. By using Conivo you agree to this policy.

1. Information We Collect

• Account information: email address, display name, and username you provide when registering.
• Profile & vehicle: optional profile photo and optional car details (brand, model, year, color, license plate). You can save up to three cars in your Garage and choose an active one.
• Location data: your device's GPS location (latitude, longitude, heading, and speed) while you are actively using a map or convoy, used to show you on the map, share your position with your convoy, and provide navigation.
• Content you create: convoys and routes, posts and reels (photos and videos), captions, comments, likes, chat messages (direct, convoy, and community rooms), friend connections, and reports you submit.
• Photos & videos: images and videos you choose to upload for posts, reels, your profile, your Garage cars, or support chats. Media is compressed and stored on our secure cloud storage.
• Microphone audio: captured only while you are in a convoy voice channel, and transmitted in real time to the other members of that convoy. We do not record or store voice audio.

2. How We Use Your Information

• Provide core features: convoys, shared routes, live map, navigation, in-convoy group voice, chat, and the social feed (posts and reels).
• Show your profile, posts, reels, and (when enabled) live location to other users.
• Send in-app and push notifications for messages, likes, comments, friend requests, and convoy invites.
• Maintain safety through reporting and moderation of content and accounts.

3. How Your Information Is Shared

• With other users: your profile is visible to other users. Location sharing is off by default and never automatic — each session you must manually turn it on before your live location is shown. It is then shared only with members of a convoy or brand server you join, for that session. The main discovery map shows active convoys — it does not plot other users' locations. Turning off Share Location (or reopening the app) stops your location from being broadcast.
• Posts & reels: content you publish is shown in the feed and on your profile to other users. Public content and any share link you generate may be viewable by anyone with the link, including outside the app. Others can like, comment on, and share your content. You can delete your own content at any time.
• Chat: messages and photos are shared with the recipient, convoy members, or brand-server participants. Messages and images you send to our support team are visible only to you and our support staff.
• In-convoy voice: while you are in a convoy voice channel, your live audio is streamed in real time only to the other members of that convoy. Voice is not recorded or stored by us.

• Road alerts: when you report a road event (police, accident, traffic or hazard), a marker is placed at your then-current location and shown to other drivers. Reports are tied to your account for moderation but appear to others without your name, and unconfirmed reports expire automatically.
• Moderation review: when a report is submitted, our moderators may review the relevant chat messages tied to it to investigate and enforce our community rules. Chats are not monitored proactively — they are accessed only in response to a report or a safety/legal concern.
• Service providers: we use trusted third-party providers to operate certain features — such as map display, place search and routing, real-time voice, and secure cloud hosting. These providers process only the data needed to deliver their function (for example, route coordinates to calculate directions, or audio for live voice).
• We do not sell your personal data or share it with advertisers or data brokers.

4. Permissions

• Location (while in use / background): show you on the map, share with your convoy, and navigate while driving.
• Microphone: in-convoy group voice communication while driving together.
• Camera & Photo Library: take or choose photos and videos — set your profile picture, add your Garage cars, create posts and reels, and attach photos in support chat.
• Notifications: alert you to messages, requests, and invites.

You can change these permissions at any time in your device settings.

5. Your Choices & Controls

• Share Location toggle — stop broadcasting your global location at any time.
• Notifications toggle — turn app notifications on or off.
• Block — block another user so you no longer appear to each other.
• Report & delete content — report a post, reel, comment, message, or user, and delete your own posts, reels, and comments at any time.
• Change password from Settings; sign out at any time.
• Account deletion — contact us to request deletion of your account and associated data.

6. Data Retention & Security

We retain your data while your account is active. Your data is stored on secure cloud infrastructure with access controls that restrict who can read it. Convoy voice audio is streamed live and not stored. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, but we take reasonable measures to protect your information.

7. Children

Conivo is not directed to children. You must meet the minimum age required in your country (at least 13, or higher where applicable) to use the app.

8. Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by the "Last updated" date above.
